Every song has been written in full on 1-2 pages so you will never need to turn a page mid-song. The Ukulele Club Songbook has been created by and for Ukulele Clubs and contains over 250 songs! The songs in this book have been expertly arranged by Robert Weule, the Music Director and Band Leader of The Blue Mountains Ukulele Club, and have been extensively workshopped by the group and a number of other Ukulele Clubs. On pages 6 and 7, a useful strumming guide will help you get the most out of your ukulele playing. In addition, the structure of the song and any additional lyrics are at the foot of the page. For easy reference while playing, the relevant ukulele chords are displayed at the top of each page. Small enough to put in your ukulele case, each song is presented with clear chords and lyrics and the words are positioned with markers to show where they fall in the bar. From essential traditional fare like Waltzing Matilda and God Defend New Zealand, to iconic hits like Counting The Beat and It's A Long Way To The Top, this book has got it all. The bands name, quite fittingly, is also the name of an area in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.The Ukulele is an amazing instrument, and this is an amazing book! It is filled with many well-loved songs from Australia, New Zealand and around the world. They’re made up of three members: Sarah Jean, who plays the fiddle Kaylee Goins, who plays the guitar and Mackie Hockett, who plays the uke. Sulphur Banks, a trio based out of the eastern Washington city, features haunting harmonies and a perfect collaboration of dialed back acoustics and multi-faceted vocal melodies. This group is also open to residents of Coeur d’Alene and its surrounding area.
While any skill level and age is welcome, natural performers are also encouraged to join as Ukestra periodically performs for audiences outside of their meetings.

The exact schedule and location can vary, so members are encouraged to watch the group’s private Facebook page for specific dates and venues. The Spokane Ukestra ukulele club meets twice a month on Fridays (usually the 2nd and 4th) at 7:30pm to jam, socialize and learn. The eastern Washington city is no stranger to arts: It’s home to the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, plenty of live entertainment and their vibrant metropolitan center is Spokane’s meeting place for creative of all types – including ukulele musicians. With so much going for it, it’s not exactly a surprise that its currently having a big moment. Ukuleles are an unbelievable bargain for such a serious instrument.
